Starting this weekend, The Jellicle Blog will be featuring a series of podcasts on NEO FILIPINO 2015 – REBOOT. This podcast series will start airing on Friday, July 24 and will run until July 31 to feature this year’s participating choreographers. To cap the series, we will also have a final “podcast discussion review” of the show.
NEO FILIPINO is a contemporary dance (jazz, hiphop, theater, etc.) concert taking its roots from the idea that “dance doesn’t always have to be ballet.” It started way back in 1984 and had had annual concerts ever since. This year, NEO FILIPINO 2015 – REBOOT returns to the CCP to showcase restaged works of nine pioneering contemporary choreographers, whose original works were premiered in NEO FILIPINO concerts produced by Ballet Philippines.
On Friday, July 24, at 3pm, we will air our first episode which features Ms. Denisa Reyes of Ballet Philippines. In the podcast, Ms. Reyes and I will talk about her segment ASONG ULUL, ATBP, a Theater Dance number featuring actors from CCP’s Tangahalang Pilipino.
During this podcast series The Jellice Blog will also run an online contest where 20 lucky Jellicle Readers can get a chance to win an invitation to NEO FILIPINO 2015’s Opening Night on July 31, 2015 at the CCP’s Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino.
