Actors, poets, painters and musicians from the southern metro will get together for a night of bitterness and hugot. Theater in Alternative Platforms’ (TAP!) Ampalaya Monologues will feature 8 short monologues inspired by popular memes and real love stories. They are also joined by other theater actors including JV Ibesate, Blanche Buhia , Aldo Vencilao, among others.
It’s not all monologues though, as spoken word artists Zuee Herrera of Words Anonymous, Rommel Paraos of LAPIS Artcom, Slac Cayamanda of White Wall Poetry and other poets will join in to perform their original works that is sure to satisfy our bitter cravings. And what’s a hugot night without some wrist-slashing music? Music duo Chasing Deadlines and indie band Suicidal Genius are just some of the musical performers that will take care of that for you.
Ampalaya Monologues will be hosted by Rene Cruz, it will also feature live arts and will end with an open-mic session for anyone who would like to artistically pour their heart out on stage.
Aside from mending broken hearts, Ampalaya Monologues aims to showcase talents from the south and hopes to build a community that will support the art scene from this side of the metro, to make it as prominent as its northern counterpart.
