BM-NCCA Poster with all logosTrue to its mission of bringing performing arts more accessible to wider audience and in leading collaborative productions in the Dance community, BALLET MANILA is hosting an International Dance Day celebration on April 29, 2015 at the Aliw Theater from 10 AM to 10 PM.

The event dubbed as BM-NCCA INTERNATIONAL DANCE DAY FESTIVAL 2015 is in partnership with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), Manila Broadcasting Company, Aliw Theater, Star City, and dance school and companies across the country. It is also recognized as the official NCCAYugyugan para sa Kultura ng Bayan in the National Capital Region.

“The idea of celebrating IDD in Aliw Theater came to mind in January this year with mostly ballet schools as performers but the response was overwhelming and the program has now become multi-disciplinary,” says Lisa Macuja Elizalde, BM Artistic Director.

AirdanceThe festival features a whole day of performances from ballet, hip-hop, modern, contemporary, and folk dance schools and companies from Metro Manila, Cavite, Pampanga and Baguio City. Food booths and photo wall activities are also available at the Elizalde Hall. The event culminates in a gala featuring special performances from AirDance, Bayanihan National Folk Dance, Daloy Dance Company, Philippine Ballet Theater, Polecats Manila, Korean Cultural Center, Manouevers, and Ballet Manila.

BM-NCCA IDD Festival 2015 is also made possible by the following partner dance companies and schools – Academy One, ACTS Manila AirDance Company, Ana Emata School of Classical Ballet, Ballet & Arts Centre, Ballet Baguio, Ballet Manila, Bayanihan National Folk Dance, Center for Movement & Music, Company of Ateneo Dancers, Daloy Dance Company, Dance Theater Arts, Danspace, Ecole De Ballet Manille, Escuela De Baile De Santa Ana, Hampton Court Ballet, Ianne Damian and Melanie Motus (IDMM) Ballet School, Korean Cultural Centre, Lahing Kayumanggi ng Marikina, Lakandula High School, LPU Dance Troupe, LPU Wildstyle, Manoeuvres, More Than Dance, Perry Sevidal Ballet School, Philippine Ballet Theatre, PNU Balingsasayaw, Polecats Manila, Ridgepointe, Symmetry Dance, Team Dance Studio, Teatro Baile de Filipinas, The Dance Conservatory, and The Dance Factory.

This event is open to the public and admission is free!
