Moderated a discussion last night on the National Artist Award and Nora Aunor to a group of people who are neither showbiz followers nor Noranians. They just attended to inquire on the recent controversy and would like to see how they can help. The outcome was amazing. They learned about Nora Aunor, her body of work and contributions to the Filipino people.

They are planning to sponsor an event sometime next month (they’re tapping a major state university in Manila) and call all supporters to join a symposium to discuss the issue.

Because that’s the least we can do. If we can’t get the award this year, we could at least initiate educating people why we clamour the much deserved recognition.

It’s time to spread the fight.

Whatever happens, I’ll keep you guys posted.
