At last, I've finally seen The Princess and the Frog!
Bebe was right. Nothing compares to Disney's animation. Having waited for almost a decade, we see another cartoon film that was made in tradition of the treasures we saw when we were young.
This year, they gave us a new addition to the Disney Princesses – Tiana (Anika Noni Rose), a waitress who dreams to be a chef and a restaurant owner. What made Tiana amazing, aside of course from her authentic singing voice, is that she's the first African-American Disney princess.
What makes this film so different from other Disney animations was that the theme moved towards a more realistic aspect of life. Death is normal, love is developmental, happiness is earned and success requires hard work.
I love the music, I adore the characters. The plot is tight and the goals are very clear. Each character develops according to each own's purpose. Even the music by Randy Newman already has a story of its own.
The Princess and the Frog is yet another addition to our treasures of Disney's traditional offerings to the young and to the young at hearts!!!
This is absolutely a perfect Valentine's gift for me!
PS. 'Be….watch it! Watch it!!!
